Özet
Additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing, enables the fabrication of complex three-dimensional structures through a layer-by-layer material deposition process. Polymer-based AM methods have become increasingly popular due to their low cost, ease of use, and flexibility in producing a wide range of 3D-printed objects. In this case, poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) and polylactic acid (PLA) have emerged as promising candidates owing to their unique physicochemical and biodegradability properties. This review therefore explores a comprehensive overview of current developments in AM technologies utilizing PLA and PCL in specific application areas, namely tissue engineering and wastewater treatment. For that, the related publications between 2016 and 2023 are focused on the review by analyzing more than 100 publications. Herein, essential advancements in material design, printing techniques, and application performance are also systematically examined as well as some future challenges of this technology are discussed. In overall approach, it presents that the integration of bio-based polymers into AM processes not only enhances environmental compatibility but also offers advantages such as customizability, safety, and accessibility–positioning them as valuable assets in fields ranging from biomedicine to environmental engineering and consumer manufacturing.
