| Interest in smart electronics such as smart wearable electronic devices, implantable devices, wireless sensor networks, and the like has increased lately. The studies on small-scale renewable and sustainable energy resources continue. Currently, batteries are used as the primary alternative to meet this energy need. However, batteries turn into waste at the end of their life, which creates environmental problems (Wang 2014; Zi et al. 2015). Nanogenerators are used as an alternative to batteries in small-scale and sustainable energy production. Nanogenerators generate sustainable energy based on electromagnetic, pyroelectric, piezoelectric and triboelectric mechanisms by harvesting energy in the working environment.
