Özet
Sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) polymer (sPEEK) was synthesized to utilize as an adsorbent in dye removal process for the first time. The characteristics of the material was investigated using FTIR, TGA, SEM, BET/N2 surface area analysis, particle size and zeta potential measurements. Dye removal abilities of the polymer structure from aqueous solution were evaluated for rhodamine B (Rh B) and murexide (MX). The material revealed considerable adsorption behavior driven by sulfonic group active sites. The kinetics and equilibrium behavior of both adsorption systems could be well described by pseudo-second order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm model, respectively. Furthermore, it was indicated that the intraparticle diffusion was not the rate decisive step of the whole adsorption processes. The adsorptive performances were investigated depending on initial dye concentration and solution pH. Therefore, sPEEK can be presented as an innovative adsorbent to limit dye emission and can support wastewater management.
