Effects of Interior Design of Hotel Rooms on Perceptual and Behavioral Performance of Its' Users

| Özet |
| In this research, interior design quality of classical type hotel rooms has been evaluated regarding the role furniture and decoration play on the perception of space. As part of the research, typical rooms of two five stars hotels from Ankara were included in the research. Each situation was tested by using atmospheric attributes through the use of bipolar adjective pairs on a 1-9 semantic differential scale. Even though the classical type hotel room in each hotel had similar shape, one was a little bit smaller than the other. According to the results the smaller room was the most liked one due to its furniture and decoration. Besides the effect of gender and age on perceptual performance appraisal task was also examined. Compared to middle age group, young users, and compared to female users, male users perceived the space more positively which is important in terms of the statistical evaluation. |
