Özet
In this research paper, an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) based heuristic algorithm is proposed for solving simple (one-sided straight line) and U-shaped assembly line balancing problems (ALBP) with multiple objectives. The paper makes one of the first attempts to show how the ACO heuristic can be used to solve multiple objective U-shaped ALBP. A novel algorithm is proposed in this paper that seamlessly integrates COMSOAL algorithm, Ranked Positional Weight Heuristic (RPWH) and ACO heuristic in order to obtain optimal or near optimal solutions to simple and U-shaped ALBPs with multiple objectives. Minimization of number of workstations and smoothness index are considered as the optimization criteria. Several test problems from the literature are solved to test the performance of the proposed approach. The result of the computational experiments has shown that the ACO based algorithm can be a …
